A female Soldier in the US army joins vigilante team in hunting down wildlife killers in Africa.
This female veteran called Kinessa Johnson served in Afghanistan but now has moved to Africa to stop poaching. This soldier now works for the Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife (VEPAW), which trains parks rangers to catch and impede poachers.
Many people online have criticised her actions but she insist that she is not here to harm anyone and disproves the claims made that she is a poacher hunter.
According to media reports she told 11 Alive that her intentions is not to harm anyone, they are here to train park rangers so that they can track and detain poachers and ultimately prevent poaching. Most of the time anyone carrying a weapon on the reserve is an threat and can be shot by rangers if they feel threatened. Yet our goal is to prevent trigger pulling through strategic movements and methods of prevention in Africa.
She adds on The Daily Mail that she finds it extremely disheartening to see so many bashing my ability based on my gender. ‘I work with so many awesome and capable female park rangers here in Africa, who put their lives on the line every day right next to male park rangers, and I think these comments are also disrespectful to these amazing women.’
Johnson is really passionate about what she is doing to protect animals. No matter your gender, sex or race. We all come together when it comes to protecting wildlife, because once extinct, money can never buy back our wildlife.
What are your thoughts? Do you think she has something good going in Africa? Will she influence more females to realise that you don’t have to be a male to be protecting wildlife? Inbox, comment and tell us your thoughts.
